You Sound Like a Girl
You Sound Like a Girl is a performance and vocal workshop meant for use in schools to empower girls and young women to speak up--literally and figuratively.
In the performance, cis and trans women share with attendees stories of being silenced, censored, or liberated. Then during the workshop, the all-women You Sound Like a Girl team helps attendees get in touch with their own voices and feel empowered to be who they want to be, sound how they want to sound, and say what they want to say.
What does it mean to sound like a girl? You Sound Like a Girl tackles that question head-on, to spread the word that there's no right or wrong way to speak, and to show how powerful girls and women can be when we use the voices we've got.
"You Sound Like a Girl" will perform September 10th - 15th at IRT Theater.
